In today's teaching seminar, we got to take part in four more wonderful KSA microteaches from Cheyanne, Andrea, Johannah and Darci. Man, group G sure set the bars high, got to get prepping for my own microteach for next week.
Question for readers: Please help me out and share any good online communities, blogs, websites that can help teachers stay current and trendy with technology they can integrate in their classroom. Many thanks in advance!

This brings me to my topic for this post, I want to share a website that got me super excited: Librivox!
Johannah shared this very neat website with us during her microteach.
What is Librivox?
Essentially, Librivox is an online digital library of free public domain audiobooks that is put together by an online community of volunteers.
Volunteers from all over the world collaborate online to read and record chapters of public domain books.
Anyone can volunteer!
What is public domain books?
Books published before 1923 and are no longer under copyright laws. Old Classics.
Confession: I have a secret love for audiobooks...because I'm lazy. Audiobooks make wonderful companions during the long straight drive between Calgary and Lethbridge.
How does Librivox works?
Listen to an audiobook:
Volunteer as a reader:
What can you listen to on Librivox?
There are currently 7000 books available on the site!
Many genres are available: Children's Fiction, Classics, Crime & Mystery Fiction, Poetry, Science Non fictions to just name a few.

How can Librivox be integrated into the classroom?
Closing Words - How I am going to use Librivox?
I would definitely love to integrate Librivox into my future classrooms if the opportunity arise.
For now, I have signed up to be a volunteer to improve my own read-out-louds and speech articulation.
Super psyched to get started and give this a try! Waiting anxiously for my account approval.
Again, Thanks Johannah for sharing this exciting resource with us!

How can Librivox be integrated into the classroom?
- Global Classroom/ community involvement: Johannah promoted this tool as a great way for student community involvement. Students can not only listen audio books read by the global community but also volunteer as a reader themselves. Students can collaborate with other students from across the world or community members to contribute to this great literacy cause.
- Language Arts: Librivox could be a great tool for audio learners, audio learners can listen to books and stories to supplement readings. It could also be a great project idea for secondary students to encourage literacy and speech.
- ESL Students: Librivox can support ESL students by allowing them to not only read along with the audiobooks but use it as a tool to practice their speaking. While browsing some of the titles, I noticed many second language speakers using this as a tool to practice their speaking.
